Levins, Richard J. (Rik), age 59, of Orlando, FL. passed away peacefully on 6/12/10 at Moffitt Cancer Center (Tampa, FL). Rik was born on 10/15/50 in Somerville, NJ. to parents Joseph and Elizabeth. He had an older brother Tom who passed away last October.
Rik will be remembered by his loving wife, Sandra (Sandi); niece Lynn & husband Ken; niece Robin; nephew Robert; great nephews Kenneth and Jonathan and sister-in-law Sharon.
Rik met Sandi at work in 1984, but they didn’t date until 10 years later when they met again through a mutual friend. They were married May, 1997. Rik and Sandi did not have any children, but he was close to his nieces and nephews-and always had cats underfoot.
In his 20’s Rik worked for the US Post Office, then attended art school. He had a successful career as a comic book artist-penciling for Capt. America among others. He switched to computer art and worked as a game developer/modeler for 15 years-the last 7 of which were spent as a lab instructor in the gaming dept. for Full Sail University in Winter Park, FL.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service for Richard at 5:00 PM., Friday, June 18th with visitation at 4:30 at the BALDWIN-FAIRCHILD FUNERAL HOME GOLDENROD CHAPEL, 7520 Aloma Ave., Winter Park, FL. 32792.
